How a week works

Same rhythm every week, so there’s always something to look forward to.

  1. Pick

    It’s someone’s turn. They choose what the club watches, listens to or reads. In a public club, the club votes on it instead.

  2. Watch, listen or read

    Everyone takes their time. Talk about it in the discussion on that pick, and keep spoilers there.

  3. Score in secret

    Rate the pick on the club’s rubric, such as story, acting and direction. Nobody sees a score until everyone’s in.

  4. The reveal

    Everyone’s scores open together: the club average, the category breakdown, and whether you agreed or split down the middle.

One app, four kinds of club

Each club is about one thing. Make as many clubs as you have groups of friends.

  • Movies

    Search for any film and pick it. Posters, details and where it’s streaming come with it.

  • TV

    Pick a series for the club to get through together, with the same search and streaming info.

  • Music

    Albums. Everyone listens, then scores the record the same way.

  • Books

    Pick a book, take the weeks you need, and argue about the ending.

Scoring that stays fair

Blind scores keep the loudest opinion from deciding everyone else’s. Your club sets its own categories and weights, so a horror club and a book club can care about different things.

Private clubs

Invite-only, and only members can see anything inside. Members take turns picking, in order. This is the one for your actual friends.

Public clubs

Anyone can join. The club votes on next week’s pick, so there’s no fixed order to wait for.

Standings
A season table, so the rotation has a story.
Discussion and suggestions
A thread on every pick, and a board for ideas about what to try next.
Your own space
A library with your ratings, a queue of what to watch, listen to or read, lists, and your top 10s.
Friends
A public or private profile, following friends, and a light activity feed.
Gentle reminders
A heads-up when it’s your turn, when voting is closing, when scores are due and when results are in. Each one is optional.
